Trip Map

We headed away in snow on Friday morning from Queenstown. The rain poured and the sleet “sleeted” on our way. By Glenorchy, it had stopped raining. By Kinloch, the low cloud and clag was lifting. By the Greenstone carpark we glimpsed blue sky patches.

We departed the carpark in good spirits and made good time up the valley to the DoC Greenstone Hut.

Friday night was spent in good company and Angus sharing a devotion with us all. Card games were played, discussions by candle light had.

Saturday morning was crisp and cool as we departed for a walk up the valley towards the Steele Creek. The party made it as far as the Deerstalkers Hut for lunch … where two hunters were surprised to see us. We turned back down the valley without heading up Steele Creek.

Jase managed to use the day to read an entire book about the history of Concorde (a good book if you are interested!)

Saturday night was more discussions, card games and fun. Tim shared the first part of a two part devotion … second shared on Sunday morning.

Sunday morning was a “rip-snorter” of a frost where icicles were literally growing out of the ground nearby the hut.

All in all another good winter tramp … thanks all!

Sorry there aren’t that many good photos from this tramp … I didn’t get many back from those that attended.
